Display Screen Equipment Assessments

Display Screen Equipment Assessments

Health and Safety (Display screen equipment) regulations 1992 as amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous amendments) regulations 2002.

DSE includes desktop computers, laptops and tablets.

The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations were introduced because DSE is now one of the most common kinds of work equipment. The main aim of the regulations was to protect the health of people who work with DSE.

It is well known that incorrect set up and use of DSE can lead to neck, shoulder, back or arm aches or pain, as well as fatigue and eye discomfort. These aches and pains are sometimes called upper limb disorders (ULDs), which can include a range of medical conditions such as Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).

ACE consultants can carry out ergonomic assessments for all your DSE users which will allow them to follow effective practice and set up their workstations correctly which will ensure better comfort and a more productive workforce.
