Control of Lead at Work Regulations 2002 Approved Code of Practice and guidance.
The Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) Regulations 2002 came into force on 21st November 2002. The current regulations have also been extended by the health requirements of the European Union’s Chemical Agents Directive (98/24/EC).
As with Asbestos, conducting a Lead survey is a legal requirement for all commercial projects wherever paintwork is liable to be disturbed, regardless of the age or type of building or structure, especially if the building was constructed before 1978.
